PURPOSE:To reduce the vertical movement of a playback stylus as much as possible by providing a floating plate which moves vertically according to fluctuations of the rotary surface of a disk by being applied with the buoyant force of air flow on the disk rotating at a high speed, and by fitting the base side of a cantilever to the plate. CONSTITUTION:As a video disk 1 rotates at a high speed, air flow 15 flowing in the disk rotating direction is generated on the top signal recording surface of the disk. This air flow 15 operates upon the reverse surface of a floating plate 9 at the lower position of a carriage table 8, permitting the floating plate 9 to float. This floating plate 9 floats where the synthetic downward force of its weight, spring forces of coil springs 12a and 12b, etc., and the buoyant force induced by the air flow 15 balance with each other. When fluctuations of the rotary surface of the video disk 1 displace the disk surface vertically to vary the gap between the disk surface and the floating plate 9, the buoyant force increases according to a decrease in the extent of flotation or decreases according to an increase in the extent of flotation, reducing the vertical movement of a playback stylus. |
