PURPOSE:To use at least the face of a cathode ray tube which exhibits red and green colors in common by constituting at least face of a vacuum outer container with glass containing specific oxides. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical vacuum outer container 1 is provided with a face glass 3 the inside surface of which is coated wih fluorescent material 2 on its end, an electron gun 4 to generate a flood electron beam on its another end, on which electron gun 4 terminals to apply desired voltages are provided, and a stem 5 to seal the vacuum outer container 1. The glass face 3 is constituted with glass containing Nd2O3, Pr2O3, Fe2O3, and CeO2. A red or green fluorescent material is coated on the face plate 3 of thus constituted vacuum outer container, and a display device is constituted using the cathode ray tube which exhibits red, green, and blue luminous color as picture elements. |
