PURPOSE:To manufacture a magnetic head with a narrow gap and narrow track width easily by providing a thin magnetic film over the surface of annular body whose half parts are composed of a magnetic body and a nonmagnetic body respectively, and then by forming a gap in the thin magnetic film. CONSTITUTION:End surfaces of a semiannular magnetic body 3 of ferrite, permalloy, etc., and those of a semiannular nonmagnetic body 4 of glass, etc., are connected with epoxy resin 5 to form an annular body. Over the top surface of the annular body, permalloy or the like is vapor-deposited to form a thin magnetic film 6 to an about 1mum thickness, and on the nonmagnetic body 4, the thin magnetic film 6 is cut crosswise to an about 1mum width to form a magnetic gap 7. Then, a coil 8 is wound to obtain a magnetic head. |
