PURPOSE:To save energy, by using both a distillation method consisting of an unrefined ''sake'' column and a concentration column and another distillation method consisting of a dealcoholizing column and a rectifying column, and utilizing a high- temperature alcohol vapor evolving in the rectifying column as a heat source for the unrefined ''sake'' column. CONSTITUTION:Unrefined ''sake'' is fed from the pipe 1 to the unrefined ''sake'' column A. The distillation in the unrefined ''sake'' column A is carried out using the reboiler C as a heat source, for example, the temperature of the top of the column is 98 deg.C, and that of the bottom of the column is 105 deg.C. The vapor of the top of the column is introduced from the pipe 2 to the concentration column A1 and condensed by the condenser 5 to collect 95V% alcohol from the pipe 6. While, a crude alcohol solution is fed to the dealcoholizing column B1, and steam is introduced from the pipe 14 to it. The vapor of the top of the dealcoholizing column B1 is introduced to the rectifying column B, where it is rectified, for example, the temperature of the top of the column is 127 deg.C, the temperature of the bottom of the column is 137 deg.C, and the pressure of the bottom of the column is 4kg/cm<2>.
