Function detection system for visual alarm device - uses photodetector circuits with relays indicating state of each alarm device

The system has a photo detector facing each alarm device and inserted in series with a relay supply circuit. The relay controls a branch circuit closed by the relay under control of the photodetector to supply an information signal to a central control indicating a change of state of the alarm device (2). Pref. a number of detection circuit is are contained in a common housing which can be attached to the alarm unit so that each photodetector faces a respective alarm light. An indicator light is pref. connected in parallel with each branch circuit, these lights providing a visual indication of the states of the corresponding alarm lights. The function detection system is used for an alarm device, which cannot be opened, to provide remote surveillance.
