POWER TRANSMISSION OVERHEAD LINE A power transmission overhead line comprising a lightning protection system which also serves to transmit information in the form of r.f. signals. The system has at least one section in which the spacing between its wires is made variable through the length thereof so that the ratio of the spacing between the wires at the middle portion of the section to the spacing between them at any one of the ends of the line is greater than unity and less than 20.
