Photo-tomographic X=ray system - has adjustable collimator grid to minimise X=ray scatter
摘要

The fast exposure tomographic X-ray system has an efficient adjustable collimator grid above the photographic film which ensures that there is no blurring of the image caused by x-ray scatter. Several x-ray sources (2a-c) all in one plane (1) send x-ray beams which cross over within the patient (5) and, after passing through an anti-scatter collimator grid (10), illuminate a photographic film (8). The collimator (10) is a plate shaped grid with parallel segments (11) and is curved so that the segments are aligned with the x-ray beam. Provision is made for adjusting the curvature to take into account variations in the patient-film distance.
