PURPOSE:To keep a recording head always under a state suitable for recording, by a method wherein in the case pressurizing as an undischarge preventive operation in a bubble jet recorder, continuous blank discharge is immediately performed, and a temperature of the recording head is quickly recovered to a certain set temperature. CONSTITUTION:When there is any recording head among recording heads of 1A-1D, of which temperature has become higher or lower than a set temperature, a heater driving circuit 25 is so driven as to come to be of a set temperature, and a heater 20 is turned on or off. Further, an undischarge recovery apparatus 14 is pressured in contact with a recording head unit 1 at a time of undischarge recovery, and ink in the recording head is circulated by an ink forced feed means 24. Under a state wherein the recording head unit 1 sticks fast to the undischarge recovery apparatus 14, ink is supplied to the recording head from an ink tank 13 for said recording head via an ink forced feed means 26. Then, circulating ink between a common liquid chamber 30 of the recording head and the ink tank 13 can exhaust thickened ink in the recording head from a discharge opening 31. |
