The printed matter trimming and cutting device is fitted with a conveying unit (1,2) consisting of upper and lower conveyor belts. The belts run on sets of rollers or a combination of rollers and guide rails. Between the conveyor belts the item to be cut or trimmed (3) is held by the clamping action of the two belts. The two belts carry the item towards the cutting point (S) where the cutting blades (4,5) meet. The axis (6) of the upper cutting blade (4) is positioned above the conveying plane (7) and the axis (8) of the lower blade (5) is below the conveying plane. The cutting point is positioned on the conveying plane.
