The device for applying a finishing layer to a wall consists of a pistol shaped tool with a handgrip and with two supply lines for two ingredients. One line terminates in an oval or slot shaped discharged opening and the other line terminates in two jets, one each side of the slot, so that the two ingredients are mixed as they are discharged. Pref., the slot has a figure of eight section, elongated vertically, and the jet holes are above and below, on its centre line.. The device is used for applying granular polystyrene and an epoxy resin so as to form an insulating layer. The feed and discharge systems ensure that mixing of the ingredients does not occur until discharge, so that supply tubes do not become clogged by solidifying material.
