<p>The automatic acoustic warning is for the automatic safety brake in a utility vehicle. It has a spring loaded servo cylinder (2) to monitor the brake supply pressure. If the pressure falls sufficiently to operate the hold off brakes then the servo cylinder operates a pneumatic valve (8) to operate the warning. The device is fitted to tractors etc. where trailers are often uncoupled. If the coupling is faulty the automatic brake operates. The servo cylinder operates a cam (4) which adjusts the pneumatic valve linked to the vehicle pneumatic supply, to operate the warning (10). The device is fitted on the rear wall of the cab.</p> |
