The open profile headrest for a car seat has a metal core in a first ring moulding with a second ring moulding joined to the first by interlocking faces and securing plugs. The mouldings are made of foam plastics and are coated on the outer surfaces with trim covers. The two part assembly allows a softer cushion ring to be attached to a firmer support ring. The two rings are joined either by bonding or by a series of fasteners spaced around the rings.
