The vacuum cleaner fitted with a water spray (15) has a double-wall housing (1). The inner housing (2) is fitted with a container (3) to collect the dust and dirty water delivered by the suction pipe (6). A fan (11) sucks air out of the inner housing through the filter (20) and a float valve (19). The dust and dirty water remain inside the collector. When the collector is filled with water to the maximum level, the ball of the float valve shuts off a duct (21) leading to the fan. The clean water reservoir (13) is formed by the space between the inner and outer walls of the housing. This design of double wall increases the rigidity of the housing and also acts as a sound barrier to reduce the noise from the cleaner.
