<p>A fine measurement sensor, esp. a distance transducer for a length measurement unit, has one or more sensors on a mounting piece, e.g. a plug gauge, and arrangements for conversion of the sensor movements into electrical signals. It is an economical, compact device substantially insensitive to contaminants, e.g. dust and moisture. It does not contain moving parts, such as linkages or rocker arms, or channels requiring a high degree of manufacturing precision. The sensing part (1) of the sensor is mounted on the free end of a flexible spring (2). The other end of the spring is fixed to the mounting piece (3) at a distance from its outer surface (3a). Strain gauges (4) on either side of the spring convert the sensing piece (1) movements into electrical signals.</p> |
