PURPOSE:To obtain the injection-molded form of polyphenylene ether resin having a glossiness of surface higher than a specified value and a good appearance by a method wherein the form is molded by a mold having a specified surface temperature. CONSTITUTION:The injection-molded form of polyphenylene ether resin compound containing polyphenylene ether resin, having the glossiness G of surface (60 deg.)% (ASTM D523) of at least 70% or preferably 90% or more, or a reinforced rubber constituent is obtained. The surface of this injection-molded form has no defect such as a flow mark, a jetting, a silver streak or the like and the weld line thereof will never attract attention substantially. Accordingly, a product having a high luster may be obtained without necessitating any work for the surface thereof. This injection-molded form is manufactured by a method wherein the surface of the mold is heated selectively and sufficiently to a temperature higher than the heat deformation temperature of the resin upon molding by applying the principle of high frequency induction heating and the molded form is taken out after stopping the heating and cooling the surface of the mold. |
