PURPOSE:To facilitate manufacture of a spiral electrode by arranging an auxiliary member having a coefficient of friction smaller than that of separators, having insulating property and having adhesive spread on its one side surface, on at least one side surface of extended parts of the separators extending from the ends of positive and negative electrodes. CONSTITUTION:A negative plate 2 is wrapped from both upper and lower sides with two sheets of separator and its side edges are thermally welded to integrate separators 1 with the negative plate 2. Thus integrated separators of the negative plate and resin tape 3 provided with adhesive having a coefficient of friction smaller than that of the separator and stuck on a positive plate 4 are stuck to each other. And the stuck part between the separators. 1 piled in two layers and the resin tape 3 is inserted in a gap between divided half winding cores 5, 6 and wound around them without stopping. After completion of winding, the winding core 5 on one side covered by the resin tape 3 along its whole circumference is pulled out at first.
