PURPOSE:To reduce the deterioration of ink and to efficiently supply it by finely pulverizing solid ink and supplying it to an ink phase change unit for phase-changing the ink to liquefy it. CONSTITUTION:A hot melt ink 100 is held in a guide hole 4 in a state that a base is press-fitted and fixed to a stylus at the end of a threaded rod 10. When the quantity of ink in an ink tank 12 is reduced to arrive at a minimum allowable storage amount, a motor controller is operated by a signal from ink amount detecting means provided in the tank 12 to rotate a motor 11. Thus, the ink 10 is applied by a rotary force through the rod 10 and a forward force to a cutter 9. The end of the ink 100 is rotated in pressure contact with the cutting edge 9a of the cutter 9 by these forces to be finely pulverized by cutting, and the finely pulverized hot melt ink 100'' is dropped in the tank 12, and melted. When the liquid amount in the tank 12 is increased by the supply of the ink 100'' to arrive at the maximum allowable storage amount, the motor 11 is stopped by a signal from the ink amount detecting means to stop the supply of the ink. |
