These compounds are complex organometallic salts of an organic or organometalloid acid, in which the ratio R of the number of acid equivalents to the number of manganese atoms is lower than 2. They are prepared by reacting, hot, in an organic or hydroorganic medium, the organic acid and a manganous ammine complex prepared in situ in the organic reaction medium. The compounds can be used as drying agents for paints and varnishes and as combustion aids for liquid fuels.
