<p>PURPOSE:To effectively purify sewage and to reduce plugging in the biological disposal of waste water, by disposing the waste water in a plurality of series packing units which involve meshed packing structures arranged more parallel to a water stream and having a smaller distance between each packing and smaller mesh openings near the outlet side of the water. CONSTITUTION:Raw water 1 is introduced into the main body 2 of a purifying vessel, where the raw water 1 is purified with bacteria on a packing during its passage through packing units 3A-3C, and drained as purified water 4. Here, the mesh openings and the arrangement distances of the packings of units 3A-3C become successively smaller toward an outlet, so that biomembranes grow properly in accordance with the concentration of organic substances in the raw water. Consequently, the occurrence of plugging can be reduced. In addition, oxygen is supplied to bacteria adhered onto the packing through an air-suction pipe 5 provided with air-blow nozzles 6 below the packing units, and each unit 3A-3C is detachably received in a frame 7.</p> |
