PURPOSE:To record a color image with ease and simple, by gathering gases of individual sublimable color inks, which has been produced from respective ink tanks according to image signals, into a single stream, and discharging the stream through a single nozzle. CONSTITUTION:Inks having different tones of color are supplied to ink jet nozzles 5-1-5-4 by pressuring means 1-4, and then the sublimable inks are converted into gases by heating means 29-1-29-4 to be jetted out through one orifice. The gaseous inks with different tones of color are energized and discharged intermittently in response to the pressure by an electric and mechanical converter 6 including piezo- electric oscillating elements, etc. Analog quantities of original image signals are converted into digital quantities, in accordance with the respective digital quantities the individual flying directions of the inks having different densities and tones of color are controlled, the individual inks with different tones of color are regularly separated by timing based on referece signals, and according to the length of the timing the density of the color of each ink is changed. |
