PURPOSE:To reduce scrap amount and to produce rings with good yields by blanking the 1st formed article consisting of a ring part and a base body part which are made by compression forming of a raw material of sufficiently large volume into a ring shape in the base body part, and using this base body part repeatedly as a raw material. CONSTITUTION:A raw material 11 is loaded into dies and upsetting which extrudes part of the material 11 into a space 14 is carried out by compressing the material 11 by cooperatively moving a press die 16 and a press die 17. By this operation, the material 11 is formed to the 1st formed article consisting of a ring part 11a and a central base body part (b). Thence, while the part 11b is being pressed by the press die 16 and the press die 17, it is moved downward and the shearing by which the part 11b is blanked from the ring part 11a is carried out, whereby a product ring 18 is manufactured. Thereafter, the blanked base body 19 is moved upward and is again used as a raw material 11. The similar working is repeatedly carried out successively until it is made into a small scrap. |
