PURPOSE:To read and write data having an arbitrary bit length in an arbitrary position of a memory or a register without executing an indicative shift operation instruction or logical operation instruction by providing a bit field designating register and reading and writing a specific bit width on the memory or the register in accordance with contents of said register. CONSTITUTION:A bit field designating register group 10 consists of sixteen bit field designating registers 101 and one effective bit field designating register 102. A transfer source logic computing element 11 which segments a bit field of data of the transfer source, a transfer destination logic computing element 12 which superposes transfer data on a specific bit field of transfer destination data, and an operation register group 15 are provided. The bit field designating register 10 designates which bit constitution the data is used in, and various machine instructions designate which bit field register and field are used, thereby adjusting the width of data transfer. |
