PURPOSE:To obtain lightweight paperlike electrically conductive support with low electric resistance even at low humidity by forming an electrically conductive layer consisting of a specifically treated inorg. pigment and a polyelectrolyte on a support. CONSTITUTION:A soln. of boehmite or phosphorus pentaoxide is sprayed on an inorg. pigment such as clay or magnesium oxide, and the pigment is heat-treated at about 50 deg.C. The treated pigment is mixed with a polyelectrolyte such as polyvinylbenzyltrimethylammonium chloride in about (0.05-10):1wt. ratio, and a dis- persion of the mixture in water is applied to a support such as paper or plastic film and dried to form an electrically conductive layer having about 1-20g/m<2>. Thus, an electrically conductive support suitable for an electrophotographic receptor, an electrostatic recording body, etc. is manufactured. |
