摘要 PURPOSE:To lower the rate of degradiation of an intermediate transfer body, reduce the quantity of heat radiation and lower power consumption by maintaining the temp. in a heat transfer part at high temp. during rotating as compared with during stopping of the intermediate transfer body. CONSTITUTION:A heat transferring and fixing part consists of a transferring and heat fixing roller 7 built therein with a heater H1, and a press-contacting roller 10 which retreats when a pulling solenoid Sol2 operates. The surface temp. of the roller 7 is measured by a temp. detecting part TD. A temp. control part TC forms the circuit to increase the quantity of the heat evolved by the heaters H1 and H2 by changing over contacts tc1 and tc2 when the temp. of the part TD is lower than a reference temp. Thus, in a case in which the temp. of a conversional heat transfer part is maintained always at 200 deg.C, the decrease in the rate of heat transfer to transfer paper is admitted from about 20,000 copies, but if in the above-mentioned constitution the intermediate transfer belt is kept at 200 deg.C during rotating and 170 deg.C during stoppage, no degradation in heat transfer rate is admitted despite copying of >=50,000 sheets.
