PURPOSE:To obtain an image with high sensitivity, resolving power and contrast by processing a direct reversal type photographic material manufactured by dispersing and suspending microcapsules contg. silver halide and silver precipitating nuclei in a hydrophilic polymer with a developer contg. a silver halide dissolving agent. CONSTITUTION:Microcapsules 4 formed by dispersing silver halide particles 1 and silver precipitating nuclei 3 such as sulfide of Zn or other metal or a selenium compound in a hydrophilic binder 2 such as gelatin are hardened with formalin or the like. The resulting microcapsules 4 are dispersed in a hydrophilic soln. of polyvinyl alcohol or the like, and the dispersion is applied to a support 6 and dried to manufacture a photosensitive sheet 7 contg. the microcapsules 4 uniformly dispersed and suspended in the polymer film 5. The sheet 7 is imagewise exposed and processed with a developer contg. a silver halide dissolving agent such as thiocyanate as well as hydroquinone, etc. to obtain an image consisting of a light transmitting exposed part (developed silver) 8 and a nonexposed part (blackened silver) 9 with high black density. |
