PURPOSE:To apply test load of torsion, bending or the like at the same instant of applying compressive test load upon a test piece by providing spherical seats respectively to cross heads. CONSTITUTION:A ram 7 of a compressive test load loading cylinder 6 pushes up a movable cross head 1b, and applies compressive test load upon a test piece 8 by way of chucks 9a, 9b. The compressive test load acting upon the chucks 9a, 9b is supported by the spherical seats 10a, 10b of the respective cross heads 1a, 1b via a thrust bearing 14 and spherical journals 11a, 11b. A torsional test load loading motor 15 applies torque to a torsion shaft 13, thereby applying the torsional test load to the test piece 8 via the chuck 9a. At this time, a roller 18a engages to a reaction supporting arm 17a, thereby inhibiting its rotation and supporting the reaction of the torsional test load acting upon the arm 17a. The torsional test load applied upon the test piece 8 is supported via the chuck 9b by the torsion shaft in the journal 11b, and is measured by a torque detector 16. |
