PURPOSE:To form a direct reversal type color photograph simply and clearly by adding a coloring dye to >=1 layers of each microcapsule consisting of a shell layer contg. silver precipitating nuclei and a core layer contg. silver halide and by dispersing and suspending the microcapsules in a hydrophilic polymer. CONSTITUTION:Double-layer microcapsules are formed consisting of each core capsule layer 3 contg. silver halide particles 1 in a hydrophilic binder 2 such as gelatin and each shell capsule layer 7 contg. silver precipitating nuclei 4 such as metallic sulfide or a metallic selenium compound in a hydrophilic binder 5 colored with a coloring dye 6. Capsules colored blue B, green G and red R are dispersed in a soln. of a hydrophilic polymer 8, and the dispersion is applied to a support film 9 and dried to manufacture a direct reversal type color photographic sheet. The sheet is imagewise exposed and processed with a developing soln. contg. a silver halide dissolving agent and a developer, whereby the core layers 3 of the capsules in the exposed part are colored, and the shell layers of the capsules in the unexposed part are developed black with a silver image.
