The radiography pattern study appts. has a calculation system for picture construction, with cyclic control by the patients heart beat. The main components of the system are an X-ray source (2) mounted above the patient (1) with a curvilinear row of detector elements (6) below. The source (2) is supplied by a generator (8). The detector elements (6) are connected to a detector read out unit (18) incorporating a signal amplifier and an analogue digital convertor. The read out unit (18) is coupled to a control unit (10) memory (24) calculator (30), signal modulator (28) and television monitor (26). The patient rests on a carrier (10) with a pickup to enable the detectors to be rotated at the optimum speed by a drive mechanism (12) and control mechanism (22).
