The solid wheel relates primarily to lightweight wheel sets for rail vehicles. The wheel discs can be produced with a relatively low mass. A high degree of dimensional stability is achieved in the axial direction in the case of temperature stressing and the new wheel sets can be loaded up to 250 KN axial load with a high radial elasticity and improved security against release of the shrinkfit seating of the hub/shaft in the case of heating up of the brakes. This object is achieved by means of a special constructional shape of the wheel disc. The shape of the centre line of the wheel plate follows the function y = d DIVIDED 2(1-cos2 alpha DIVIDED 1x) and the ratios are alpha DIVIDED 1 and alpha DIVIDED 1 > 0.15, the wheel plate having a small and virtually constant plate thickness in the region 0 </= x </= 1. The solid wheel is primarily used in lightweight wheel sets for rail vehicles. |
