In a process for preparing an animal feed composition, the cellulose-containing residues from pentosan-containing raw materials which have been digested by hydrolysis and remain after separating off the fermentable sugars obtained are mixed, as filtration aids, with yeast slurry and filtered. The resulting filter cake is, after drying if necessary, used as animal feed. The animal feed thus obtained is suitable directly for cattle and calves, as a protein-containing feed component for pigs and in pelletised form for poultry and fish. |
