The guide carriage for curtain rods has a lower part to which is clipped a movable bar (2) which can be mounted on either side of the main carriage body (1). One surface of the main part of the carriage has two loops (14) through which the movable bar is inserted and held in place. The same surface has two protuberances (15) fitting flexibly in one or other of two notches (25) facing each other on the lengthwise edges of the bar (2). The bar has windows in (23) of the same size and distance apart as the windows (13) in the lower part of the main carriage body.
