The system records and collects measurements in order to subsequently computer process the series of results taken periodically in several places. At each location, the measurements from one or more sensors (8) are transferred into a local memory (13) through a converter (10), using a multiplexer. A clock (11) associated with a sequencer (12) controls the sensors (8), converter (10) and memory (13). The data are transfered periodically from the different local memories (13) into a collecting memory (5). This memory (5) can then be connected to a computer in order to process the data. The sensor and interface unit (4) can also include a generator of parameter separators (14) which adds to the stored measurement an identification, e.g. date and time or measurement number. The interface includes an analogue-to-converter. The appts. can be used in the study of soil mechanics.
