The heat recuperator consists of a tubular horizontal grille constructed from solid drawn steel tubing. The tubes are connected into a front header. The header is supplied with water from alternative inlet connections at the back of the fireplace and through each end tube. The heated water flows through the horizontal tubes backwards to the vertical water jacket. Here a further increase in temperature takes place before the water is discharged through one or both of the outlets (S). The vertical water jack has fins to increase its surface area and rate of heat exchange.
