The flow duct (2) is provided with built-in components (3, 4, 5) which permit an improved heat-transfer performance in conjunction with reduced pressure losses and a relatively small total surface area. The flow duct (2) can also be applied for other exchange processes such as, e.g., osmotic, counter-osmotic and ultrafiltration processes. In this case, the duct wall consists of a semipermeable material, while in the case of application to heat exchangers the duct wall consists of an impermeable material.
