The air heater consists of a cast iron hearth plate (2) having three holes over which are welded the vertical air tubes. These tubes are connected into a common horizontal header at the base of the chimney. Inclined lateral branches from the header pass through each side of the chimney breast, terminating at outlet grilles. The hearth is hollow underneath the plate to form a cold air inlet. Room air passes through the inlet and flows upwards in the tubes by thermosyphon action, discharging into the room through the outlets.
|
