The growing trough accommodates earth for a small number of plants, having one or more internal openings via which irrigation water can be supplied by capillary action. It incorporates a space containing the earth and two or more hollow feet, each with a port near the bottom end, while there are holes in the trough bottom. The trough rests via the feet on a surface, above which there is running or stationary water, whose level is lower than that of the trough bottom. The feet can be in the form of oblong skids.
