PURPOSE:To provide the jig capable of facilitating the fitting and detachment of a body to be coated by vacuum deposition and enhancing the efficiency of working by a method wherein a retaining plate having a shape corresponding to the back face of said body is held by a holding frame, and elastomeric members are comprised of a magnetic material so that they can be contacted to peripheral parts of said body being placed on a bottom plate. CONSTITUTION:For instance, the retaining plate 3 is shaped in accordance with the back face (a face not to be coated by vacuum deposition) of a steel plate which is roughly parabolic in cross-sectional shape and has an inside surface to be coated by vacuum deposition with Al or the like, and the lower edge of the plate 3 is closely contacted to the bottom plate 4 and welded to the latter. The upper edge of the plate 3 is welded to a top plate 5 provided with a cutout which has the same shape as the upper edge. The elastomeric member 8 filled with a magnet powder and having a rear end part adhered on the rear side of the plate 5 and a front end part capable of moving freely in the vertical direction, is provided so as to cover the top face of the body to be coated and a back face part thereof exposed outside the plate 3. The elastomeric members 12 similar to the member 8 and having a rear end part adhered and a front end part capable of rotating horizontally, are fitted to side plates 9 along the entire length of the latter. The elastomeric member 8 cover the side edges of the body being deposited and the peripheral parts thereof being exposed outside the plate 3. |
