PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic recording medium whose surface is protected against friction and abrasion without spoiling the effect of a solid lubricant, by heating a solid-containing fluoride applied onto the surface of the magnetic recording medium. CONSTITUTION:A solid-containing fluoride is applied onto the surface of a magnetic recording medium and then heated favorably at 170-240 deg.C. As the used solid- containing fluoride, there are a tetrafluoroethylene telomer, low-polarization-degree polytetrafluorothlene, graphite fluoride, and carbon fluoride surface active agents, etc. |
