PURPOSE:To reproduce the embossed pattern of an original mold without mechanical compression by a method wherein a copy sheet is attached to the outer circumferential surface of a cylindrical material, metal is plated on a copy roll obtained thereby, then the copy roll is removed, metal plating is fixed on the metal plated inner circumferential surface. CONSTITUTION:A copy sheet or a plurality of copy sheets 3 where the pattern has been copied with silicone resin from a rectangular manuscript 1 on the surface of which an intended embossed pattern 2 is formed are attached onto the outer circumferential surface of a steel roll 9 with a predetermined circumference and width to prepare a copy roll 10. Then, metal of an intended thickness is plated on the outer surface to break and remove the copy roll 10 and mold releasing processing is carried out on the inner surface of a metallic layer 12 and then metal is plated on the inner surface to prepare a metallic cylinder 13 having the same embossment as the copy sheet 3. After the metallic layer 12 of the outer layer is removed, an iron roll 14 having sufficient strength is inserted into the hollow part and metal 15 of low melting points like lead etc. is poured between the iron roll 14 and the metallic cylinder 13 to manufacture the embossing roll. |
