PURPOSE:To prevent trouble by disengaging a rack and a gear from each other by putting a clutch mechanism in operation when a slider is to move forcibly in its moving direction. CONSTITUTION:If a video disk player is inclined or applied with some shock, force to slide a slider in a guide rail direction is generated. This force is applied to an intermediate gear 35 engaging with a rack body 28 and operates to rotate the gear 35. When a load to move by the slider increases, the gear 35 is incapable of bearing the load and rotates a slide plate on a shaft pin 56 against the force of a coil spring to disengage a rack gear 29 and the gear 35 from each other, permitting the slider to slide freely. Consequently, no unreasonable stress is applied to the rack and the gear surface of the gear, so trouble is prevented. |
