The machine is hitched to the side of the tractor so as to form a self-propelled machine. It can be driven by a variable-speed hydraulic motor, controlled by a lever working against a graduated quadrant so as to allow its working speed to be matched to the travel speed. At the rear of the machine the stacking table can be offset for 50cm to 1m, to avoid the tractor wheels running over the untreated crop, and also for 1m 20, so as to deposit the swath from the second pass on top of the first, and thus double the rate of the subsequent round baling operation.
