<p>An oil-spill recovery system has a series of vertical tanks as separation chambers mounted in a boat, or on a vehicle, and with suction heads on extending booms to increase the range of the recovery process. The oil-water mixture is pumped into the chambers by pumps outside the chambers, with control valves inside the chambers. The system is designed to be fitted into many types of vehicle or vessel, with the water separated out and discharged. The chambers are interconnected and are fitted with level indicating windows.</p> |
