The current flowing in one converter output is integrated over a current acquisition interval lying symmetrically in time about a changeover point. The resulting integral is used to change the phase position (changeover angle) of the changeover time-point wrt the phase of the ac output voltage. The integrated current or the current being integrated is divided by the amplitude of the current. The acquisition interval is at least twice the duration of the converter's input frequency.
