The boiler has a horizontal double-wall cylinder enclosing its combustion chamber. The space (11) between these two walls forms a water jacket. The flue gas outlet (15) is at one end, near the top, and inside the inner wall (20) is a baffle plate (16), bent so as to control the flow of the combustion gases towards the outlet. The end of this plate is stepped, with a vertical face (162) connected by a horizontal face (161) so that the gas flow is slowed down sufficiently to lower its temperature. This improves the efficiency and reduces soot formation. The leading part of the plate is parallel to the inner wall, and the vertical face is D-shaped. In an alternative design, the inner wall and the baffle plate incorporate flanges which alternate with each other, forming a zig-zag discharge path for the flue gases to improve the effect still more.
|
