A single-wall, blow-moulded container having a moulded-on hinge is produced in that a preform is blow-moulded in a blow mould which has a hinge forming region with a thermoforming ratio of at least 1. As a result, the wall thickness of the preform in the hinge forming region is reduced relative to the remaining wall thickness. A preform formed in this manner is cut open along its circumference with the exception of the hinge region to form a bottom part and a top part, which parts can be opened or closed by means of the hinge. <IMAGE>
