The invention relates to a rolling block for rolling wire and simple light sections. The aim of the invention is to reduce the consumption of material and machining costs and to avoid involved alignment work during assembly. The object is to provide a rolling block (rod rolling machine) with as far as possible unitary rolling units which are arranged on a base frame of simplified geometrical shape. This is achieved by providing the base frame with a continuous clamping surface for all the rolling units and with cog-like recesses in which the vertical rolling units are arranged and by the virtue of the fact that the housings of the rolling units have alignment and clamping elements which can be clamped against alignment and clamping elements arranged in a fixed manner on the base frame. <IMAGE>
