PURPOSE:To ensure continuous measurement for the abrasion loss of a plain bearing metal without discontinuing the operation, by attaching a pressure sensor to the plain bearing metal of a rotary machine and monitoring the oil film pressure between the shaft and the bearing metal. CONSTITUTION:The oil film pressure varies with a change of gap between a shaft 1 and a bearing metal 3 caused under rotation. Thus a sensor 4 is buried into the metal 3 to sense the oil film pressure. The output of the sensor 4 is extracted in the form of an electrical output and amplified by an amplifier 5. The output of the amplifier 5 is removed through a filter 6 by an amount lower than a certain level, and the output frequency is counted by a counter 7 for the filter 6. In such way, detection and prediction is possible for a fault of the metal 3 under an operation of a motor or the like. Thus trouble can be prevented previously. |
