<p>Cutting tools are sprayed by nearby nozzles with water supplied through ducts inside the cutter head, on a part- cutting machine, esp. as used in mining. Water supply is effected through a hollow space running in the axial direction, extending from the rear end of the fixed cutter head carrier (1) into the rotatable cutter head (4) bearing the tools (8). The hollow can be in the form of a tube (14), passing centrally through motor (11), coupling (12), gear assembly (13) and other units arranged in tandem in the head carrier; or it can consist of adjacent holes in the shafts of these units.</p> |
