The invention relates to a pulse generator, for example for electro-erosive machining, which exhibits an on-time setting device (6) for optionally setting on-times, a first coder (8) for coding an on-time set in the on-time setting device (6), a first buffer register (10) for recording the coded output signal of the first coder (8), an off-time setting device (7) for optionally setting off-times, a second coder (9) for coding an off-time set in the off-time setting device (7), a second buffer register (11) for recording the coded output signal of the second coder (9), a clock pulse generator (13) for generating clock pulses, a presetting counter (12) for counting the clock pulses and a circuit device which sets in the presetting counter (12) a first and a second load level to be reached by the clock pulses in accordance with the output signals recorded in the first and, respectively, second buffer register (10, 11). The circuit device is operated, on the one hand after the count of the presetting counter (12) reaches the first load level in a first mode, in order to clear the counts and to switch the load level to the second load level and, on the other hand, after the count of the presetting counter (12) reaches the second load level in a second mode, in order to clear the counts and to switch the load level to the first load level. This generates an on output signal whilst the counter (12) is in the first mode and an off output signal is supplied whilst the counter (12) is in the second mode. <IMAGE> |
