The solar heat collector consists of an outer sphere made from glass or it may be inflatable. The inner surface is reflective. The outer sphere is supported on a frame. At its centre is suspended an inner sphere filled with oil and housing a heating coil. The coil is supplied with cold water through the inlet and has a hot water outlet. The water circuit contains a pump and is controlled by a regulator taking a signal from the thermometer. The solar radiation strikes the sphere and either impinges on the oil filled sphere direct or after being reflected several times from the inner reflective surface of the outer sphere.
